what about Electric Flag ?

CCR and Janis were the best at the time....

There was a small dancing jam that started in the mid 50's at Prize's Ice Cream Parlor that influenced some serious shit, starting with Little Richard > The Blacklight Christmas Tree > Porch Speaker @ Mountain House Tavern

Well The Electric Flag originated in the midwest if I recall (I still love their stuff) but these folks predated them and were pretty popular in the S.F. Bay Area. Not enough people remember them though I suppose.....

The were GREAT... seen Thunder & Lightning open for SRV then a few years later watched Nick jammin' w/ The Vicious Hippies at a Nor-Cal Oyster Party....then off to Lindley and Major Lingo. Only to wake up in noisy Noe Valley cold water flat, but at least the adventure started in the Haight.

.....then I was thinking, I used to purchase old event posters in North Beach. I purchase a Catch 22 poster which was Bob Dylan's first electric band. Sent it back east, but I think she thought it was a threat or something.. WTF ?

We both liked SKA, but I am still looking for an imposter out east as well.

"Who Was The Best 60's Rock/Soul Group In The Bay Area?"

Rock/Soul can't argue with S&TFS there

but the Moby Grape snub is unforgivable

and that group called "Grateful Dead" wasn't too shabby either
